Area 407

Crash And Burn: An Amateurish "Found Footage" Thriller That Lacks Much Payoff
Utilizing the increasingly popular "found footage" genre that combines elements of the thriller into a faux documentary presentation, "Area 407" is never particularly effective at establishing its intentions. It's hard to discuss the flaws of the film without revealing too much, so I'll be purposefully vague. The movie charts a plane crash and its immediate aftermath in a desert region of the United States. The survivors of the crash face two imminent dangers (which I won't discuss) but the two threads don't really work well together. As the DVD cover positions the film as a monster movie, I'll say that particular element is handled reasonably well. You get occasional glimpses of the terror, but nothing of a full reveal until the very end. The more human side to the threat is a LOT more vague, unexplained, and frankly lacking in logic. I didn't necessarily hate "Area 407," it just offers little new to this overused film technique. You've seen similar movies and you've seen them...

This is really bad to be even considered a 'B' movie.
This is one of those "me too" docu-drama a la Blair Witch Project, where some footage was recovered somewhere, and then someone put it together for your enjoyment. Well, it could be an excellent thrill, but the production shortcomings are way too many. The main character is cute at the very beginning but becomes too annoying a few minutes into the movie. Not to mention some other heavyset character, that irritates everyone including the audience. I was all the time wishing that he would get kill the sooner the better. It also seems like a lot of parts are missing or never explained at all (well... let's assume those footage parts were never found... LOL).

What could have been an excellent plot, was just trashed by whoever filmed this crap.

If you are the type of movie watcher who likes the kind of movies that has no script, no director, and where nothing makes sense most of the time. This is it!!!

Stay Away At All Costs!!!
Let me break this down as honestly as I can: This movie was so bad my eyeballs wanted to throw up!! I am still traumatized at how lame and sorry this film is in every area: acting, direction, special effects, etc! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE SUCKS AND BLOWS!! Do yourself a big favor and STAY AWAY from this one, you won't be sorry! I just saved you from calling the Poison Control Center for your eyes - trust me! This is nothing more than CELLULOID EXCREMENT! I feel like my Constitutional right against cruel and unusual punishment was violated!
