You, Me & the Circus

Fantastic. A unique style
This movie was a beautiful experience in a small package. The movie follows the story of 4 friends on one afternoon, a couple who are breaking up, and their 'supportive' friends who find themselves enjoying each other's company more than they expected. The movie switches back and forth into the theme of a circus, where the characters from the story represent their respective roles/emotions through their acts in the circus. It is a drama/musical, but not Chicago style. The circus does not add to the progress of the story, it shows the layers underneath the surface. It makes the characters reveal their naked emotion to the audience (the world around us) and perform (live their lives) along with audience's judgement and response. Am I making sense? I can't describe it accurately.

The movie is not dark as the trailer showed it; it's beautiful. It's colorful. The performances sort-of mock the audience for simply being an audience to others' lives, but so subtly, that I did not...

Awesome!
I didn't expect this movie to be this good. It's a musical so it gives you time to think what is gonna happen next even tho they are explaining it by performing! I love musicals and this movie:)

surprisingly deep
I didn't expect to love this movie as much as I did. I was looking for something light-hearted and bizarre and stumbled upon this movie. It was not at all what i expected. I was instantly drawn in to the volatile emotions portrayed and felt so completely connected to the characters walking their paths. It really touched me and surprised me and broke my heart all at the same time. I hope this movie is able to break out and reach the world.
