Lucifer and the Magus

Well Duh!
An "amateur" film would of course not be a Hollywood movie. This is a nano-budget movie with high aspirations. Many aspects of this movie are in direct comparison with so-called Hollywood movies. Merely because there is no Hollywood budget doesn't make it less than the regurgitation from Hollywood that has money behind it. The story is important in this one, or at least the conversation between Lucifer and the Magus. Why do you think it was called that?

Basically, comparing a low-budget movie to a Hollywood production is completely bogus. People want to tell a story and don't necessarily want to make a cookie-cutter/formula movie, like Hollywood does, especially now with the re-makes (because they can't get good creative stories?), but those newbie productions can't get Hollywood backing. Why is that wrong? I have seen all sorts of bad movies coming from budgets, and from Hollywood.

Just because it comes from Hollywood doesn't make it a good movie. Some...

An Amateur Production
This is an amateur production of some sort, that does not resemble a Hollywood film in any way. I bought it based on the very high reviews given this 16 minute short film, on imdb.com, & I'm sorry I wasted my money on it.

Although the persons involved seem to have made an earnest attempt at film making, it falls far short on all of the normal criteria by which a movie is judged, & nothing new or different is presented here, in terms of plot, action, or dialog.

As a film, I give it 1*, & I add 1* because I think the persons involved made a sincere effort while lacking professional film-making skills.

It may have some appeal to a younger audience (perhaps 10-14 years of age?), but as an adult film, there is little to recommend it.
